The whole job in the fitter's pocket, signal or not

Real apps for iPhone and Android. They keep working underground.

Glass work happens in places phones do not work well: basements, car parks, half-built houses, the back of an industrial estate. An app that needs a connection is an app that fails exactly when the crew needs the sizes. ServicePilot keeps the day on the phone, so the job opens whether or not there is signal, and syncs when the phone is back in range.

ServicePilot jobs list on a phone showing each glazing job with the client, time and address
The day, on the phone, in the order it happens.

No signal, still working

The jobs, photos and notes are held on the phone. Take the measurements in a basement and they sync when you surface.

Photos on the job, not the camera roll

Photos taken on site belong to the job, so the install crew sees what the measure-up saw.

One tap to the address

Open the job, tap the address for directions, tap the number to ring the customer. Nobody is reading a run sheet at the wheel.

Why "works offline" is not a tick-box for glaziers

Plenty of software claims to work on a phone. Far less of it works in a basement car park, a lift well, or the back of a half-built warehouse, which is where a good share of commercial glass work happens.

The failure is always the same and always at the worst moment. The fitter arrives, opens the app, and gets a spinner where the sizes should be. So they ring the office, the office reads the measurements down the phone, and somebody writes 1,840 as 1,480.

ServicePilot holds the day on the device. The job opens, the photos are there, the notes are there, and anything changed on site is queued and synced when the phone finds a signal again.

The glazier app - questions

Is there a real app or is it a website?+

Real apps, on the App Store and Google Play, for iPhone and Android.

Does it work with no signal?+

Yes. The day's jobs are held on the phone. Changes sync when the connection comes back.

Can the crew see everyone's jobs or only their own?+

That is your choice. By default a crew member sees the work assigned to them, and an administrator can turn on visibility of the whole company's jobs.

Can they take photos on the job?+

Yes, and the photos attach to the job so they are there on the next visit and on the invoice.

Can they invoice from the phone?+

Yes, and take the card payment on the same phone.

Does it drain the battery?+

It is not tracking you all day. The apps sync when something changes rather than holding a connection open.
