Turn on automatic reminders
Go to Settings, then SMS. Tick Text customers a reminder the day before their job. ServicePilot sends each reminder by SMS (Short Message Service). Every customer with a mobile number gets one polite reminder the evening before, and no-shows drop immediately.
Your free monthly allowance
Every account includes 20 free SMS messages each month. The dashboard shows how many you have used. It also shows how many purchased credits remain.
Buy more when you need them
Pick a pack of 100, 300, or 1,000 SMS messages. Pay by card, and the credits reach your balance immediately. When the credits run out, ServicePilot stops sending. You can never get a surprise bill for messages.
Automatic follow-ups by email (free)
Two more switches in Settings reduce your admin work. Quote follow-ups send a polite reminder at 3 and 7 days, and stop when the customer decides. Overdue invoice reminders send at 3 and 10 days, with the pay link. These are emails, so they cost nothing and use no SMS credits.
Send on-my-way texts from the field
Open any job on the phone. Tap On my way. The customer gets a ready-made text with your estimated time of arrival (ETA) and your business name. It is a small touch that looks professional.
Common questions
Who can buy SMS credits?
Administrators only, and only in the web app. A technician can send job-related texts, but cannot spend money.
Do unused credits expire?
Purchased credits never expire. The free monthly allowance resets each month.
Can customers opt out?
Yes. ServicePilot honours opt-outs automatically. That customer then stops getting reminders.
